Recycling Your Electronic Waste in our Area

28 Sep 2012 Padstow 0 Comment

Technology is moving at a faster pace than ever before and an unfortunate side-effect of this is that we’re left with a lot of old gadgets and gizmos that we need to throw away.

Rather than simply throwing away old telephones, computers and televisions into general waste however, we should try and recycle them where possible.

To help all residents living in the Bankstown Local Government Area do just that, the Bankstown City Council runs free electronic waste recycling drop off days twice a year.

The next electronic waste recycling day will be held on Saturday October 13 at the Bankstown Paceway.

Items dropped off for recycling on the day will be dismantled and then recycled into new products, cutting down on the amount of waste that ends up in landfills.

The following items will be accepted at the drop-off:

So start looking through your home now for electronics that you want to throw away.

The electronic waste recycling day on October 13 will be open from 9am until 3.30pm and only Bankstown residents are eligible to use the service. Proof of address will be required and only household quantities will be accepted.

If you’re after any further information about the recycling service, you can call the Bankstown Council on (02) 9707 9999 or you can email council@bankstown.nsw.gov.au.
